Puf-enabled Rfid Tags in Electronic Banking

چکیده
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags have a variety of applications in e-banking. For effective utilization of the technology, this should be reinforced toward security holes and attacks. One of the common attacks on RFID systems is RFID tags cloning. In this paper we review cloning attacks in ebanking. We propose solutions based on physical unclonable functions (PUF) and provide a suitable security protocol for tag authentication in off-line environments.

A PUF-Based Authentication Protocol to Address Ticket-Switching of RFID-Tagged Items
Ticket-switching incidents where customers switch the price tag or bar code in order to pay a lower amount for their ‘purchased item’ is not uncommon in retail stores. Since the item has to pass through a check-out counter before leaving the store, it has a (even if miniscule) positive probability of being identified. However, when item-level RFID tags are used in an automated check-out environ...
متن کاملRFID Security Using Lightweight Mutual Authentication And Ownership Transfer Protocol
In recent years, radio frequency identification technology has moved into the mainstream applications that help to speed up handling of manufactured goods and materials. RFID tags are divided into two classes: active and passive. Active tag requires a power source that’s why its cost is more than passive tags. However, the low-cost RFID tags are facing new challenges to security and privacy. So...
متن کاملRFID-Tags for Anti-counterfeiting
RFID-tags are becoming very popular tools for identification of products. As they have a small microchip on board, they offer functionality that can be used for security purposes. This chip functionality makes it possible to verify the authenticity of a product and hence to detect and prevent counterfeiting. In order to be successful for these security purposes too, RFID-tags have to be resista...
متن کاملReverse Fuzzy Extractors: Enabling Lightweight Mutual Authentication for PUF-Enabled RFIDs
RFID-based tokens are increasingly used in electronic payment and ticketing systems for mutual authentication of tickets and terminals. These systems typically use cost-effective tokens without expensive hardware protection mechanisms and are exposed to hardware attacks that copy and maliciously modify tokens. Physically Unclonable Functions (PUFs) are a promising technology to protect against ...
متن کاملAn Improved Ownership Transfer and Mutual Authentication for Lightweight RFID Protocols
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is an automated identification technology which is widely used to identify and track all kind of objects. However, it is a challenging task to design an authentication protocol because of the limited resource of Lightweight RFID tags. Recently, a lightweight RFID authentication protocol and an ownership transfer of RFID tags are presented by Kuls...
